We have been keeping a close eye on them too! We have rounded up our favourite hair and beauty trends to emerge from the NYFW Spring 2018 runways. Shall we get started?
Bombshell Boy Cut
The New York Fashion Week shows have been known to introduced the most trend-defining and radical chops or play on hair. The Tom Ford show this year showcases just that. The NYFW Spring 2018 runway show featuring the latest collection from Tom Ford had the models in a transformational bombshell boy cut look. Famous supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Vittoria Ceretti sported the wispy pixie cut in the said runway show.
The collection showcased tailored blazers and gowns that need to be shown off. Hence, a short hair cut is the ultimate solution to showcase the level of detailed structure from the pieces off the collection. The stylists could have gone for classic options such as a high chignon or classic updo. But the use of a transformative boy cut brought that sense of edge into the collection.

Effortless Beauty
Beautiful nightmare is the best way to describe the concept for the Calvin Klein show at the NYFW Spring 2018 runway. It paid homage to the classic American horror films. To allow the collection to shine, the stylists opted for an effortless, haunting beauty look for its runway models. They wanted the focus to be on what the models are wearing while allowing their individual personalities to be showcased. It seems that the “no makeup” makeup and effortless hair is back!
Romanticized Provencal Style
We definitely loved the Creatures of Comfort show and especially the beauty look showcased at its NYFW Spring 2018 runway show. The looks exuded the South of France countryside woman vibe. The hair and makeup embraced the free-spirited and understated style that the region is known for.
Coloured Eyeliner
The Oscar de la Renta collection at the NYFW Spring 2018 runway show exhibits the same signature style that the designer is known for: feminine and classic. Think Jackie O kind of style. But this year’s beauty look drew inspiration from the collection itself, which consists of paint-splattered pieces. To match the pieces from the collection, the makeup team also opted for a color feline flick that would be “eye-framing”. To be specific, they wanted to infuse a fun pop of pastel shade into the eyes to mark the corners of the eye lids. The colours used were in a range of copper, bubblegum, lavender, and cerulean, to name a few.

‘No Makeup’ Makeup
The ‘no makeup’ makeup trend is a pretty common trend in many of the runway shows this year. The Victoria Beckham show is an example of that. The focus has shifted towards reflecting the individuality; showcasing the natural beauty and features of the models. Hence, you will notice the highlight of the natural textures of the hair and the use of sheer foundations. Even clean and unpolished manicure were the prevailing trend at the Victoria Beckham runway show.
Slicked Back Look
Every season of the fashion week, there seems to be a slicked back pattern that emerge on the runway shows. This slicked back look at the Prabal Gurung show is complemented by glossy lids. It is the epitome of the modern but edgy woman that style experts believe is going to be easy to adapt this year.
Neon Accessories
The Fenty x Puma show is all about a mixture of sporty chic and sexiness. The models on this runway show showcased a sleek updo hairstyle. The updo hair is accentuated by the use of neon hair accessories. It adds an interesting detail to the hairstyle and makes a simple look seem eye-catching.
