The New York Fashion Week is one of the most anticipated times of the year for fashion. It is when fashion and beauty collide with the latest runway looks showcasing the latest or up and coming trends in the industry. For us beauty and hair trends fanatic, it is also a good way to get some inspiration for new trends to wear for your daily life.
Bright Eyes at Diane Von Furstenberg
Isn’t this makeup look gorgeous? To recreate this makeup look, start by prepping your skin using Sun Defense Tinted Moisturiser from Bodyography. Create the perfect shaped brows using the Essential Brow Trio set before adding a dash of pink blush to the cheeks. A dab of nice, nude lipstick is a nice way to finish off the lip look. For the peacock eyes, which is really the highlight of this look, start off by applying Laguna Expression eyeshadow on the top lid. The bottom lash line requires an application of Vivid Expression and then blend them together nicely. The lower water line is achieved using the Black Onyx pencil eye liner.
Braided Crown Pony at Herve Leger
The stunning dresses showcased by Herve Leger in his latest collection wasn’t just the center of attraction at NYFW 2015. The braided crown ponytail that the runway models wore also garnered a lot of discussion. This was a creation of hairstylist Orlando Pita who started off by braiding the hair toward the front and into the hairline before finishing them off in a ponytail.
Ethereal Goddess at Carolina Herrera
The latest Carolina Herrera runway show at the NYFW 2015 celebrated feminine fashion. To stay true to the feminine quality of the collection, the models were also a picture of ethereal beauty. The models wore loose waves that almost felt like it melted along into their dresses (pink was the dominant colour, by the way).
Perfect Pony and Rosy Makeup at Kate Spade
Girly and gorgeous. These two words best describe the look that the models showcased at the Kate Spade show in the NYFW 2015 events. Starting off with the makeup, they showcased a soft but polished look that is suited for everyday wear. For the hair, it starts off with a lightweight styling creme placed to the crown of hair (make sure it is still dry). Then, the hair is blow dried to achieve volume and height. Add a few spritz of texturising spray to give it some texture before brushing hair back and gathering it into a ponytail. A sheer or lightweight hold hairspray will help to tame frizz or flyaways!
Bronzed, Matte Skin at Michael Kors
Earthy elegance was the theme of the look for the runway models at MIchael Kors’ show during NYFW 2015. Models wore windswept hair and bronzed, matte skin. This look is aiming to continue on the growing trend in the hair and beauty industry, which is geared towards natural-looking makeup. A powder bronzer helped to achieve a desert tan skin on the models while highlighting the parts of the face that comes into contact with the sun: bridge of the nose, cheekbones and the forehead. Use a cream colour base to the eyelids to create some shine to the eyelids.
For the hair, it is all about adding a dusty texture to roughen up the strands. The messier, the better!
