Myth #2: Changing up shampoo is recommended for best results.
This is a total myth. Every shampoo is unique and made up of different formulas designed to address various hair types and problems. Make sure to give enough time for the shampoo to work on your hair instead of switching too quickly and frequently. Once you find the shampoo that works for your hair, stick to it for best results.
Myth #3: Dyeing your hair while pregnant is dangerous.
There are no definitive studies released yet that would indicate there are harsh effects on the developing fetus when a woman decides to dye her hair. The primary cause of concern here are hair care products that contain formaldehyde, which can be dangerous to women (pregnant or not) because it is known to have carcinogenic effect. It pays to read the label so you can steer clear of these products when you see it on the ingredients list.
Myth #4: Picking out gray hair can stimulate more gray hairs to grow.
Absolutely no truth to this myth. However, plucking out hair is not recommended because it can cause damage to your roots.
Myth #5: Washing your hair with shampoo twice ensures really clean hair.
If you are using the right shampoo for your hair type or texture, once should be enough.
Myth #6: If you have oily hair and scalp, skip the conditioner.
Oily scalp or hair is caused by physiological reasons wherein your oil glands are too active resulting in excessive sebum production. Hence, skipping conditioner won’t be of any help. Instead, use a clarifying shampoo and focus on cleaning your roots to ensure that any product buildup is removed and that excess oil is washed off, too.
