Do you like to wear perfume all the time? Do you notice that the scent does not last as long as you want? Do you have to constantly re-apply your perfume? Even though the process of applying perfume is the least complicated part of your daily beauty routine, there are a lot of ways wherein it can go wrong.
Make sure you take note of these common perfume mistakes so you can avoid them in the future.
DO NOT Rub Your Wrist Together

If you want to give more staying power to your perfume, then you must avoid the habit of rubbing your wrist together. There are three types of notes from which fragrances are built on. Depending on which note your fragrance is based on, it will also determine how quickly that scent will evaporate. By rubbing your wrist together, you are creating friction and heat. The heat will cause the fragrance to burn off quickly and you will lose that scent immediately.
DO NOT Spray Perfume on Wrist…Only
One of the common practices with applying perfume is to put it on your wrist. However, it is not the only spot you should be focusing on. Look at the other pulse points in the body, such as the neck, behind the knees, etc. Make sure you spritz just enough to bring out the scent from your pulse points and not overwhelm. If you want to add a beautiful scent to your hair, you might even try spraying a small amount of the perfume to your hair brush.
DO NOT Forget to Moisturise
Moisturising your skin is recommended to keep it supple and soft. However, another benefit you can get from the use of a moisturiser is the ability to increase staying power of your perfume. Layering helps for the fragrance to stay longer. If you can find a scented moisturiser that is closely similar to your perfume, take advantage of that to maximise the staying power of your scent.
DO Store Perfume Properly
Did you know that something as simple as knowing how to properly store your perfume can be critical in its staying power? Do not simply leave out your perfume in your vanity. The best place to store your perfume is somewhere cool, like your refrigerator. If you find it somewhat weird, just try to keep your perfume bottles away from the sun or other sources of heat.
DO Learn About Body Chemistry
Just because you liked how a certain fragrance smells on another person does not mean you should get it for yourself, too. Every fragrance formula responds to different body chemistry in a unique way. Hence, a certain fragrance might smell differently on you than on somebody else.
