This summer, make an effort to be kinder to your hair. The warm weather can already be beating up on your hair, causing irreversible havoc. Hence, you can only imagine how much more damage it has to bear if you were to neglect it. When developing a beauty routine this summer, it also pays to consider your hair in the process. Hence, I have put together a fool-proof plan to ensure that you can get shiny, full, and healthy hair all throughout the summer.
Use the Right Treatment
Treating your hair is essential to maintaining its natural health and glow. But treatments become doubly important in the summer time. The rise in temperature and the exposure to harsh elements mean that you are bound to wash your hair more often. In doing so, you could also be washing off essential nutrients needed by the hair to repair and maintain itself.
Switch your regular conditioner to a treatment conditioner infused with natural essential oils and other helpful substances. If you’re worried about spending more time in the summer, you do not have to go on full-minute soak with most hair treatments, especially the rinse-through type. At least five minutes will help to provide nourishment to your hair strands and repair roughed up hair cuticles.
Or, you can also eliminate the added stress on your hair by opting to use dry shampoo instead. This powdered shampoo absorbs excess oil and does not put your hair at risk of being stripped off any remaining natural oils or vitamins.
Heat on Treatment

The use of heat on hair treatment is nothing new, as hot oil is fairly common in the hair care industry. The use of heat helps the treatment to be absorbed faster by the hair. Hence, take advantage of the summer sun in order to enhance nourishment to your hair strands. If you plan on going for a swim, apply a hair oil that is packed with essential vitamins into your strands. Allow the product to work its magic on your hair so you can keep your hair nourished even when under the heat!
Natural Texturising Effect
Create that fresh-from-the-ocean texture to your hair without causing damage to your strands with the use of a sea salt spray. After applying the product to your hair, let it air dry. This should give your hair that roughed up texture without necessarily exposing it to the sun, chlorine or sea water. To ensure that your hair is in tip-top shape, it is best to get a trim before summer kicks in, too. When your hair is damaged, it becomes easily vulnerable to more damage.
