Habits to Adapt for Well Behaved Hair

You cannot choose your natural hair texture and structure but you can always do something to improve its condition and nourish it. There is no such thing as secrets to having beautiful, well behaved hair. The hair that you have is a result of an ongoing care and maintenance, which is why your hair care habits can create a huge impact in keeping your hair under control. The simple changes you do can reverse the signs of damaged hair and get healthier, more beautiful hair.

Comb or Brush?

This is one of the trickiest questions that women face when it comes to taking care of their hair – comb or brush? There is not one specific answer as to which is better for your hair than the other since each of them serve its purpose. What you need to do here is to determine the right tool for the purpose.

Brushes are ideal for styling, while combs are for working on wet hair and detangling strands. When buying a brush, it is also important that you take into account the kind of bristle used for your hair’s protection.

Minimise Use of Shampoo

Shampoo is an essential part of your daily hair care regimen. The frequency of shampooing is the most critical part to look into here. Experts recommend that you skip daily shampooing – three days a week would be an ideal place to start. If you cannot survive without washing your hair a single day, try using dry shampoo or diluting the formula by mixing it with water.

Investing in the Right Product

This might seem easy but it is actually not. A lot of people spend hundreds of dollars on hair care products because it promises beautiful and healthy hair. But before you are lured by advertising, make sure you ask yourself this: is that product designed to address my hair type? A little bit of research goes a long way in matching the hair product with your hair type. If you don’t know where to begin, you can try asking your hairstylist because they know your hair best and are therefore in the best position to make a recommendation.

Blow Drying

A lot of women had become reliant of blow dryer to style their hair in the morning. However, too much heat styling can be damaging to your locks over time. Switch your blow drying with air drying from time to time, especially in mornings wherein you are not in a hurry. Let your hair dry naturally so you can skip the blow dryer or dry it up to about 70% so you spend little time on the blow drying process.

Trim Often

The one hair care habit that a lot of women overlook is getting a regular salon visit. Ideally, you need to trim your hair between 6-8 weeks. The ends of your hair are most vulnerable to damage so trimming them before they run the length of your hair is recommended to stop damage before it happens.

What hair care habit is ruining your effort to having well-behaved hair?
