A diffuser attachment is one of the most essential hair styling accessories around. It serves a number of purposes to the point that hair care experts recommend that if you own a blow dryer, it is of utmost importance that you invest in a diffuser attachment as well.

A diffuser can do a lot of things such as decrease the appearance of frizz while you blow dry, optimize shine, define the curls and waves of your hair, and add more volume. But essentially, what a diffuser attachment does is that it reduces the damage your hair experiences from constantly blow drying. This happens because the diffuser disperses the heat that comes out of the blow dryer to provide even distribution of heat rather than focusing it onto one area.

If you have finally decided to invest in a diffuser attachment, you need to be aware that there are plenty to choose from. If this if your first time, you need to arm yourself with essential information to make an informed choice or else you will not be able to make the most of this hair styling accessory.

GHD Diffuser

There are certain types of diffusers that come with interchangeable grills (also referred to as bi-diffuser). They are perfect for when you want to create a variety of styling using your blow dryer. And because it comes with interchangeable grills, you can use it with a rubber ring that can be fitted into other types of blow dryers.

You can also purchase a tourmaline ionic ceramic diffuser in the market these days. This type of diffuser is ideal for when you want to deliver a concentrated level of negative ions for super fast drying of hair and shiny finish minus the frizz.

Parlux Diffuser

A volumising diffuser is also becoming a popular favorite these days because of its ability to create lots of volume without the frizz. It can also help define curls and waves even for naturally straight hair. A volumising diffuser often comes with a unique shape that facilitates in a more centralised air flow.

Meanwhile, an ion diffuser reduces the air flow that comes out of the blow dryer. As a result, only heat comes out of the attachment to reduce the appearance of frizz and achieve more precision styling. A few diffuser attachments also come with silver and titanium mesh at the front, which are responsible for producing negative ions. This reduces the formation of static electricity from the blow drying action.
