Homemade Hair Masks for Winter

In a previous post, we’ve talked about the best products to use as part of your winter hair care routine. This time out, let’s talk about using homemade remedies and hair masks for winter. It is important to use natural ingredients and harness the power of nature to make your hair stronger and healthier despite the frosty winds and cold of the winter.

The best part? You do not need to pay another dollar for the product since you can prepare these hair masks for winter using ingredients you have in the kitchen!

Here are some simple recipes on hair masks for winter, no matter what your hair problem is:

Recipe #1

What You Need: 5 teaspoons of olive oil and wide tooth comb

How to Make: Mix the the olive oil in a bowl. Use the wide tooth comb to apply the olive oil mixture to your hair before shampooing.

Recipe #2

What You Need: 1 piece of potato, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 capsule of vitamin A or E

How to Make: Peel off and press the potato onto a juicer. Mix the juice with the aloe vera gel, honey and vitamin A or E. Rub the mixture onto the scalp and massage it gently onto hair and scalp.

Recipe #3

What You Need: 2 teaspoons of olive oil, egg yolks, 1 cup of lukewarm water

How to Make: Mix the olive oil and egg yolks while gradually pouring in the lukewarm water into the mixture. Apply the mask recipe to the hair and massage it in with your hands.

Recipe #4

What You Need: 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise, half avocado, and 2 eggs

How to Make: Combine all ingredients well until the texture is smooth and thick. Apply mask to the root of the hair all the way down to the tips.

Recipe #5

What You Need: 1 cup honey and an egg yolk

How to Make: Mix the honey with the egg yolk in a bowl. Use the mixture to apply to your hair.

Recipe #6

What You Need: 2 tablespoons of honey and raw milk

How to Make: Mix both ingredients and apply it to your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap for 30 minutes.

Recipe #7

What You Need: Coconut Cream

How to Make/Use: Using the coconut milk or cream itself, apply it to your hair and leave on for a few hours (or overnight, if possible).
