There are plenty of beneficial products in the market that can repair or nourish your hair. However, when you cannot seem to get hold of the products you want, you can always go for natural alternatives. These natural hair care strategies can be used to complement your existing hair care and styling routine so you get beautiful hair inside and out. Honey is one of those natural products that are proven to do wonderful things for your hair. Read on to find out why you need to be using honey to care for your hair.

Honey

1. Honey comes with humectant properties. This means that using honey for your hair treatment enables it to draw in moisture into your strands. Honey is, therefore, recommended for those with dry hair or are unable to stay moisturised for a long period of time. The sticky texture of honey will also make your hair feel smoother to touch and add extra shine.

2. If you are following the “No Poo” method, you can use honey during the pre-poo stage. Pour water into a spray bottle and spritz a small amount onto your hair to dampen it. Then, rub a small amount of honey on your palms before working it into small sections of hair. Use a plastic cap to cover your hair and leave the honey on for about 10 minutes. After that, wash hair as you normally would.

3. For maximum results, you can also combine honey with a few other ingredients for pre-wash procedure. For instance, you can mix honey with olive oil or banana. For the honey and olive oil mixture, add them into a cup of hot water. Then, apply to hair in sections. Meanwhile, mash up the banana with the honey to create a creamy mixture. Use your hands to apply the mixture onto your hair. Leave both mixtures onto hair for about 10-15 minutes for maximum results.
