How to Reinvent Your Hairstyle

Most people in this modern day live by routine. They follow the same set of activities day in and day out. But sometimes, routine can be boring. It might feel like you are stuck in a rut. Doesn’t this make you long for change? It’s fun to break the routine once in a while and try out something different. This applies to life in general and it does on your hairstyle, too.

For women, there is nothing quite like a change of hairstyle for a full makeover. Thankfully, there is no need to make a drastic change in your hairstyle in order to revamp your look because there are plenty of styling tricks you can try.

Trim a Little

Trimming your hair can do two things: 1) it can give minor touchups and a slight change in look, and 2) it can get rid of damaged ends or split ends, if you have them. This will ensure that you can get healthy and fresh looking hair all the time.

Fake a Blowout

Do you still use Velcro rollers for styling? If you’ve been hiding them in your stash, it’s time to take those rollers out! Retro hairstyles have made a huge comeback in the industry as of late and this is the perfect opportunity to try something new to reinvent your hairstyle. In addition, rollers help to recreate the perfect blowout at home.

This is very easy to do as you simply mist a small amount of hairspray. Then, divide your hair into several small sections while rolling each one into the Velcro roller. Make sure to roll hair under to get more volume. Finish it off with a gentle stream of warm air and wait for hair to cool. Voila! Gorgeous blowout at home!

Change Your Part

Another excellent trick to reinvent your hairstyle is to change hair parting. This might seem like a minor change but it can create a huge impact in your overall look. One reason for this is that hair tends to fall flat if you retain the same part for a long time so making that switch can create new volume at the roots and also vary up the framing on your face.

Slick Back Those Bangs

You can take cues from runway hairstyles and trends. This is ideal for those with an ultra modern take on their hairstyle. In order to do this, work on the top section of the hair (around the top of the head). Separate thin layers of hair and blow dry them to eliminate frizz. In the process, direct hair to the back of the face and apply lots of hairspray so they stay well behaved. You can also secure them using bobby pins to make sure they stay in place.

A Dose of Color

Want to be a bit wilder with experimenting on your hairstyle? Try injecting a bold color or two in there. To ease up on the scary factor a bit, hair shadows and ombre hair are hot hairstyle trends right now. Thus, a few wild color streaks here and there won’t hurt, or become too embarrassing.

Do you have other styling tricks to add when it comes to reinventing your hairstyle?
