We all want to look effortlessly good in summer, right? Unfortunately, the hot weather and all that goes with the season just won’t seem to cooperate. It is hard enough maintaining your hair in the summer, it makes it doubly hard on your beauty and makeup routine.
Luckily for you, I have compiled a few essential tips that you can take with you all summer long. Read on for beauty tips to create the perfect summer makeup look:
Ace the base. Ideally, you should ditch your foundation in the summer and switch to a tinted moisturiser to create the perfect base for your makeup. Follow the “like goes with like” rule when putting on other elements to your makeup. For example, if you use a cream based product, make sure that the rest of the products you use thereafter are cream based as well. This will create a seamless result and to avoid that cake-on finish.
Switch to a liquid bronzer. This is the perfect go-to makeup product for summer because it provides the right amount of shimmer to your look (for that gorgeous summer glow to your skin) and to avoid the caking (again – very possible during summer). The caked on finish can happen as a result of using powder bronzer on oily skin. Yikes! You would not want to end up with a makeup disaster, would you?
For more on that summer glow… You should also switch your choice of blusher into a translucent formula for a more even application and a rosy look to your cheeks! To make your cheek blusher last all day, press a blotting paper over your cheeks after applying the blusher.

Lip talk. Lipstick is not your only option for makeup product on your lips this summer. You can try opting for a different product – a tinted lip balm is your best choice. It provides enough colour to your lips while also moisturising it (lips can get easily dry in the summer without proper moisture). But if you are keen on making a style statement, choose a long-wearing formula but avoid loud colours during the day, if you can.
