Whether you love to do your own manicure at home or visit the salon to get your nails done, you want to make the results last for as long as possible. Setting aside time for a manicure or pedicure is something that not a lot of women have the luxury of today. Hence, it is important to know how you can make them last. At the same time, you also want to preserve the beauty of your nails. It is therefore important to learn a few basic hacks to keep your manicure and pedicure looking brand new all the time.
Here are some manicure fixes that you can try in case you have done some mistakes while putting it on:
Quick Fix for Smudges
Accidentally smudged your nail polish while it is still wet? Instead of aggressively rubbing off the rest of the polish, dip your finger into a nail polish remover and gently rub the remaining smudged polish off. Then, disguise the smudge by applying a new coat of nail polish. But if you are on-the-go and cannot do any of these tricks, try wetting your finger with water and gently apply a fresh coat to hide the smudge.
Stray Polish Marks
This is not uncommon to have polish stray on your skin during application. You will need the nail polish remover again for this one. Take out a Q-tip and apply a small amount of nail polish remover on the tips. Then, run it over the particular area of your skin smudged with stray nail polish. Make sure you do this once the polish has completely dried. This will keep you from accidentally smudging your nails.
Polish Dents
For this one, you will need a ridge-filling base coat and then followed by another coat of your existing nail polish colour. Finish it off with a layer of top coat. Make sure you prepare a bowl of cold water and dunk your fingernails into it. This will speed up the time it takes for your nails to dry.
Peeling Polish
When this happens, it is almost impossible to fix. The only solution is to re-apply a layer of your chosen nail polish colour. Preventing peeling of polish is therefore of utmost importance. Make sure you use gloves when washing dishes or doing other chores that will get your hands wet.
