Mermade Hair - let's break down your options

In this day and age, finding the right hair tool to achieve your desired style can be extra challenging. There are plenty of options in the market that can be overwhelming. It seems as though there is a tool for every particular hairstyle. This guide is designed to break down those options for you. Mermade Hair is a brand that has introduced game-changing tools that simplify the process of achieving ultimate waves and curls at home like a pro! It’s the ultimate hack for those who want to create head-turning waves without the expensive salon trips or if you’re pressed for time.

There are two types of styling tools available from Mermade Hair: wavers and curlers. While they might sound like the same or are interchangeable, there is a HUGE difference in the result of your hairstyle.

Mermade Hair Tools: What’s the Difference?

Just by looking at the wavers and curlers from Mermade Hair, it’s easy to spot the difference.

But what do the different components do in terms of creating your desired hairstyle?

The Mermade Hair wavers come with tongs with three barrels; thus, they are often referred to as triple barrel wavers. Each of these barrels clamps the hair into three separate sections. When you apply heat, it helps produce deeper waves. It works in four easy steps: 1) clamp, 2) hold, 3) move down, and 4) release. Then, you do it again on another section of your hair.

There are two barrel size options to choose from: 32mm and 25 mm. You can choose the barrel size depending on your hair thickness or the size of the waves you want to create. You can go for tight waves (25mm) or big waves (32mm). Therefore, even if you are using the same tool, you can still create different looks just by using different-sized barrels alone.

Consider this when you want to achieve certain types of waves. The results are far too dramatic not to notice!

The next tool that is available from Mermade Hair is the curling wand, known as the Mermade Spin. This is one of the must-have tools in any woman’s hairstyling arsenal.

The curling wand is made up of a single barrel. All you have to do is wrap small sections of your hair around that barrel at a time. You need to wrap your hair in the barrel towards a certain direction (left or right) to create uniformity in the curls. However, the all-new Mermade Spin is another game-changing tool for the brand! It’s the first automatic curler that does the work for you.

The Mermade Spin has the L and R buttons to correspond to the specific direction that the section of the hair will be curled towards. All you have to do is press the appropriate button and it will perform the automatic curling action. When you’re satisfied, release the clamp and then work on the next section!

This tool takes the guesswork out of styling and ensures you can get precise curls every single time!

Waves vs Curls

Contrary to popular belief, waves and curls are not the same. But exactly how?

Waves are when you style your hair to look like voluminous ‘S’ in shape. It can be styled to look big and bouncy or rippled. It depends on the size of the barrels you use. The tightness of the waves will also vary depending on how big or small each section of the hair is when styled.

Curls, on the other hand, has a more coiled shape to it. It looks like ringlets, too. You can brush it out to create a softer, more feminine look. Just like the barrels in a waver, different sizes of barrel in a curler will also have an effect on the resulting style.

Both of these tools rely on heat in order to style the hair. Don’t forget to use a heat protection spray prior to styling to protect your strands!
