The switch of climate from the cold and dry air of winter to the moist and humid weather in spring, your hair can become erratic. Hair can easily go from dry and frizzy to humid in a matter of seconds! And if you are one who wants to keep your hair looking its best all the time, you need to know the golden rules of healthy spring hair to achieve your best hair yet.

Here are some tips that will give your spring hair care a major boost:

Balance Moisture Level: Proper moisture is the hardest to achieve when it comes to caring for your hair. During winter wherein the air is dry, it is important to use moisturising products to ensure your hair maintains proper moisture. But it is a bit tricky to deal with when the season becomes wet and humid. Moisture balance is therefore the key to establishing a healthy hair routine. You should not give up conditioning altogether but make adjustments to how you use a conditioner.

Manage the Sun: Like the sun has effect on your skin, it does for your hair too. The increased exposure to the sun can cause serious and lasting damage to your hair. If you have coloured or lightened hair, it can cause unwanted lightening or cause the colour to fade. It can also cause your hair to become extremely dry until it feels like a straw with all of the moisture drained out of it. As a preventive step, switch to shampoos and conditioners with UV-protecting formula to prevent the UV rays from the sun from damaging your hair.

Bye-Bye Flyaway: Spring brings many beautiful things like blossoming blooms and warm weather. But one thing that your hair hates the most about spring: flyaway. The combination of rising humidity level and wind are the main culprits for this problem. An easy way to deal with flyaways is to spritz a small amount of hairspray onto the surface of your hair to tame those unsightly flyaways. A good smoothing conditioner is also recommended if you want your hair to be better able to resist those kinks.

Lighter Locks: Nothing screams spring or summer better than light locks can. Hence, if you have been wanting to get a lighter hue, now is the time to do so. Specifically ask for a balayage or go bronde. Both are excellent colour options for the warmer months. As a bonus, you can fake that sun-kissed look to your hair.

Keep Frizz at Bay: Frizz is another common problem during the warmer months. But you can easily address this issue with the right hair care product. For instance, you can use a moisturising conditioner or a leave-in conditioner with hydrating properties to keep frizz at bay. Or, you can also use a serum as it helps to seal in moisture in your hair cuticle and prevents it from becoming frizzy when hair comes into contact with humid air. For a long lasting result, get regular deep conditioning treatment at home.

What is your biggest hair problem during spring? How do you deal with them?
