Spring Carnival season is one of the most anticipated times of the year. If you love racing and fashion, you will definitely be in full anticipation for what this year holds. In order to stay on top of the trends, we have curated the best spring racing hairstyles you could sport on race day. Your hairstyle is an integral part of your spring carnival so make sure you get that sorted.

For more on the top trending spring racing hairstyles, you can check out these four recommendations we have for you:

Textured Ponytail

A textured ponytail is one of the most classic options for race day hairstyles. It offers a glam feel to your outfit while still conveying a relaxed look, which is what spring racing hairstyles should be about. This particular hairstyle also complements a wide range of necklines so you won’t have to worry about it working with your choice of outfit for the spring races. It also works as an open canvas wherein you can add head accessories or pair it with statement earrings.

To re-ceate a textured ponytail for your race day hairstyle, follow this step-by-step guide:

Step 1: Prep your damp hair with a spritz of sea salt spray. This will smooth any flyaways and also give that texture you need to work with.

Step 2: It is now time to blast your hair with some heat from your blow dryer and flip it over for added volume. Then, part your hair from the top to bottom. Secure the bottom section using a tight ponytail.

Step 3. With the top section separate, use a back combing technique to add texture to your strands. Then, gently combine it with the bottom section to form one ponytail. Finish it off with a hairspray and you’re good to go!

Glam Curls

You cannot go wrong with glam curls as your choice for a race day hairstyle. The fact that this hairstyle is easy to do is an added incentive. And yet, it creates that glamorous touch that will make you stand out on race day.

Step 1: Work a styling mousse onto your hair. Start from the roots and then work your way to the ends.

Step 2: Use a blow dryer and a flat brush. Work your hair into a deep side part. Divide your hair into four sections.

Step 3: Starting from the front, curl one-inch sections of your hair to your ear level. Use a half-inch curling iron for this. Once you finish curling each section of hair, pin it before moving onto the next section of hair. Do this for the rest of your hair until you’ve completed them all.

Step 4: After you finish curling, remove the pin and brush it lightly.

Step 5: Finish off with a shine serum and a hairspray to maintain the curls. And… you’re set with one of the classic yet glamorous spring racing hairstyles!

Milkmaid Braid

If you are wearing a high-neck frock, it is recommended that you wear your hair in a milkmaid braid style.

Step 1: You can prep your hair by using dry shampoo. This will add a lot of texture and body to your strands. It will also help to absorb excess oil from your strands to make it look fresh.

Step 2: Then, divide your hair into pigtails and braid each of them. Once you are finished braiding, bring both ends into a crown on top of your hair.

Step 3: Secure the braids in place with a clip. You can also choose to accessorize it with bejeweled headband.

Fascinator-Friendly

The use of a fascinator is one of the top accessories for race day hairstyles. When you are looking for spring racing hairstyles that can be worn with a fascinator, keep it simple. Let the fascinator be the statement piece. If you opt for a big fascinator, keep your hair simple by letting it down or putting it up (depending on what you wear it with). If you have a small fascinator, you have more opportunities to play up your hairstyle for race day a bit. For example, think about adding layers or textures to your hair. Don’t be afraid to be a little adventurous!

Which of these spring racing hairstyles are your favourite/s? If you have more hairstyle ideas, we’d love to know more about them! Don’t forget to share in the comments section.
