This seems like a question that answers itself. However, it needs to be pointed out to help women understand the risks involved when you put off removing your makeup, especially at night before you go to bed. It does not matter if you wore little or heavy makeup – the consequences to your skin is going to have significant impact.
First off, makeup products can contain chemical formulas (unless you use organic makeup products) that can leave behind impurities on your skin and clog your pores. When these chemicals are left behind on your skin, it can cause breakouts, allergies and other skin conditions over time. When your pores are clogged, it also prevents other skin care products you use to work, such as serums, creams and anti-wrinkle lotion. The longer your pores are blocked, it is only a matter of time until blackheads and pimples appear.
How to Remove Makeup
It is important to describe the process of makeup removal in a step-by-step method to ensure you are doing it correctly. The first step is doing a first pass on your makeup. Use a makeup removing wipe to gently remove makeup on your face. If you are wearing particularly heavy makeup, it might be essential to use a heavier formula such as an oil-based cleanser. This will ensure that the you have removed most of the makeup off of your face.

The next step is to cleanse your face. This will help to gently exfoliate your pores and skin to remove any makeup products left behind by the cleansing wipes. When washing your face with a cleanser, make sure to give it a gentle scrub. That way, you can get rid of any impurities without being harsh on your face. Use an oil-based cleansing to avoid causing your skin to dry out when you are finished cleansing it.
The third step should focus on removing eye makeup. This is the most difficult to remove when dealing with makeup removal. Use a specially formulated eye makeup remover and apply a small amount onto a cotton ball. Lightly press the cotton ball against the eye lids and then lightly wipe the formula over your eyes. Avoid rubbing at your eyes as you are removing makeup. Doing so will cause the skin around the eyes to stretch, which will in turn form wrinkles.
Finally, don’t forget to re-hydrate your skin after makeup removal. Use a moisturising or hydrating cream for your face and lightly dab it over your face using a cotton ball. Make sure to focus on the eye area as it tends to get dry fairly quickly since it also has the highest concentration of makeup products. Make sure to massage the cream to all parts of your face such as the cheeks, forehead, along the contours of your nose and cheek and the neck.
