A good blush can add a lot to your overall makeup look. It makes your skin and cheeks glow while providing a gorgeous blush to your skin tone. However, it is important to find the right shade of blush to match and complement your skin tone. If not, then your skin could appear washed out or you will not be able to achieve the same colour.

Use the guide below to make it easier for you to shop the right kind of blush for your skin tone:

Fair Skin

If you have naturally fair skin, a pale pink is the best type of blusher for you. This shade provides a natural looking blush to compliment your skin tone. Aside from a light pink shade, peach is another great colour for your skin tone.

This is a universally flattering blush colour but looks best on fair skin, especially those with yellow undertones to their skin. It serves to enhance the natural flush in your skin colour. If you don’t like peach or light pink, sheer plum also works for your skin tone.

Medium Skin

When it comes to finding the perfect shade of blush for medium skin tones, it is all about choosing warm hues. Hence, go for apricot, soft berry or mauve. All of these shades help to add depth to your skin tone without making it too vibrant. It provides the right amount of flush so your cheeks look glowing.

Dark Skin

If you have dark skin tones, intense blush shades like brick, tangerine or raisin should work well. Make sure you pick shades on the warm side because if you opt for cool tones, then these colours could get easily washed out by your dark skin tone.

If you have dry skin, settle for liquid or cream blushers. This require you to apply a thin layer of the product on the skin and often comes with a sheer formula that does not crack or turn into a muddy texture.

Meanwhile, women with oily skin should use a powder blush. This will ensure that the skin does not absorb the product too quickly for a lasting effect.

How do you pick which blusher to use?
