Beautiful hair is every woman’s dream. However, it is not always possible given that not everyone has the budget for every hair styling product or tool. It is therefore important to come up with a budget plan to ensure that you can maximise your budget. You need to know which products you can afford to splurge on and the ones you can opt for cheaper alternatives.

Where to Splurge

Shampoo & Conditioner: These two are the most basic hair products that serve as building blocks for healthy hair. Hence, it is okay to splurge on these products. But it does not mean that you have to be unreasonable though – simply go for the trusted brands or professional hair care lines for best results. Paying extra money on shampoo and conditioner is definitely worth it. You can, however, find duo deals that offer both shampoo and conditioner, which is a good option if you want to save a little on your purchase.

Blow Dryer: This is one of the most basic hair styling tools around so you need to a reliable one. Most importantly, these products can be deceivingly damaging. You think you can scrimp on a blow dryer but the little savings you make can end up being costly for your hair’s condition.

Flat Iron: The reason for splurging on a flat iron is the same with a blow dryer. Go for no less than a professional grade flat iron for best styling results minus the damage. Choose a flat iron made from high quality plates because they come directly in contact with your hair.

Haircut and Colour: Again, this is not to imply that the more expensive haircut or colour treatment is necessarily of higher quality. But you need to avoid the habit of staking out cheaper salons because you could not only end up paying more for a botched dye job, but you can ruin your hair for good.

Brush: Professional quality hair brushes are expensive for a reason. However, if you really cannot afford to buy them, opting for a cheaper hair brush won’t do a great deal of damage to your hair provided that you follow the right methods of brushing.

Teasing Comb: Again, it is all about the technique and how you use the tool. If you find a tool that is suitable for your budget and will help you tease your hair effectively, then it is a win-win situation!

Styling Products: These products are used on your hair for styling purposes only; unlike shampoo and conditioner wherein the health condition of your hair strands are at stake. Hence, you can choose cheaper products as long as you choose ones that are suited for your hair type. Then you do not have to worry about suffering extensive damage on your hair.
